My followers better all reblog this…
Calla instantly smiled as she saw the other brunette. “Hi Rachel!” She exclaimed just as happy as Rachel. She stepped into the other girl’s home, before wrapping an arm around her in a quick hug. Calla was definitely feeling much better. Both physically and emotionally. In fact, she thought it was safe to say she was finally getting over Finn. It wasn’t worth it to dwell on what might have been. All it was doing was sending her deeper into the depth of depression, and the younger St. James didn’t want to get stuck down there again. She had been there. It was lonely, and heart breaking it.
“No problem. I’m so excited to hear your new song! I bet it’s incredible.” Calla beamed brightly at the girl. She really admired Rachel, even though her glee club was against the idea, she knew she was right and went ahead with writing the song. She could only wish she had some of her confidence. “Where to, m’dear?”
Rachel grabbed a hold of Calla’s hand and led the young girl into the family room. She directed Calla onto one of the brown leather couches and pushed the platter of cookies towards the other girl, “Have one, they’re delicious.” Rachel’s fathers had had found a new vegan bakery just outside Lima and Rachel was already hooked to the sweet treats that the shop sold. “Okay, so its just a draft, I’m still working on it. And well, its suppose to be a choir piece, so there’s suppose to be other instruments than the piano and other voices blending together,” She explained, completely unaware that she was rambling.
She sat down on her piano bench and placed her fingers on the keys. After taking a deep breath she played the beginning bars, smiling softly as the notes greeted her ears.
Calla quickly closed her notebook, and tossed it on her pillow. Now that they were older she didn’t have to find random hiding placing because she was worried about Jesse reading it. The brunette changed out of her pajamas, and into a simply pair of black skinny jeans, and a random dark blue shirt. She was really excited to hear Rachel’s song. She had been since Jesse told her she was writing one. The younger St. James had a soft spot for people’s writing because she did her own. Maybe not songs but any kind of writing was writing.
Running down the stairs, Calla shouted to her uncle that she’d be home later, and she’d call him if she needed a ride. Making sure she had her keys, she slipped on her jacket and headed out the door. She had only been to Rachel’s one or twice, Jesse had driven passed it so many times and mentioned that it was Rachel’s she knew exactly where to go. The walk was short, and before she knew it the small brunette was running up the stairs and knocking on the door.
After inviting Calla St. James over, Rachel pushed off her bed and made her way into her closet. She had spent the day in her pajamas and thought it was best to make herself a little bit more presentable for her guest. She tugged on one of her favorite plaid skirts and a simple cashmere sweater. She tucked her hair behind a simple headband and grabbed her notebook off the shelf and made her way down the stairs. She walked into the kitchen and grabbed some cookies out of the jar and placed them on the platter. When she was happy with her arrangement, she turned - plate in hands - and walked into the family room. When she placed down the cookies on the coffee table, she heard the knock on the door, she smiled.
She answered it and smiled at the younger St. James. “Hey! Come on in!” She declared happily as she held the door open wider. “Thanks for coming over, I wanted someone to listen to what I had. After the silly headband song, I really want to make sure this was okay.”
I’ve been writing songs and the time slipped from me. Trust me, Jesse and my fathers had to remind me to eat. Please forgive me <3

Rachel had decided that school was not necessary for her on Friday morning and she spent most of the day by the piano with music sheets scattered everything - in her pajamas mind you. She had convinced her fathers to let her stay home, seeing as what she was working on was a matter of importance and seeing as she was so responsible while they were gone - keeping true to his word, Noah did stock up their liquor cabinet once more - they allowed her to skip school. They called the administrator and off they went to work. Leaving Rachel behind with her determination and muse, which was perfectly fine with her. Because she needed to write a song, an anthem, for Glee club. And after the debacle of her Headband song, she needed to prove that not only was she a great vocalist but a great songwriter as well.
Five hours and twenty vegan cupcakes later: Rachel found herself sitting on the ground of the family room staring down at her own brilliance and all she wanted to do was to show Jesse. She scrambled to her phone and texted him to get over to her house as soon as possible - and wrote a post on Tumblr just in case he wasn’t anywhere near his phone at the moment - and pressed send. She looked down at her music sheet, biting her lower lip, before she let out a squeal of excitement.
